Justin delivered our little baby Ellie so I was taking shots of the birth!!!!! It was pretty exciting and he was kinda nervous. Isabella Cooper Moore was 6lbs 9oz, born November 19, 2010 at 4:00pm. We are so glad she is finally here. We were shocked when she came out with all that dark hair!!!!! Sister is so glad to have a sister and wants to hold her "baby Ellie" and snuggle with her all the time!!!!

I haven't been sewing and creating for very long and would have never started if it hadn't been for an older sewing machine I inherited from my aunt. I technically haven't made anything with a pattern yet and just create stuff on my own. I get ideas from all over and just create things. My favorite things to make are cutie girly stuff for my little angel Alex, aka sista wista. It's a good thing we have another girl on the way because then this girly craftiness can continue. One day I would love to start my own line of girly stuff and sell it in some quaint boutique somewhere or even better have my own quaint boutique somewhere. For now I'm busy caring for my family and just create for my family and friends. I'm the kinda girl who works with what I got and makes the best of it. I have dreamt about someday having a serger but know that this will probably not happen anytime soon unless I'm blessed with this wonderful, out of this world giveaway! And then I will be that much closer to realizing that someday dream.... Thank you for your consideration!

The Latest Craftiness

Being that we are all settled in now I have been able to get back to that sewing machine. Here are some of the things I have been doing lately.....

Exploring MN

Our first outing was to Como Zoo and Conservatory. There were lots of beautiful flowers and the landscape was awesome. The zoo was just ok, I hear the minneapolis zoo is where it's at. There is also a small amusement park for kids called Como town but by the time we got there we were already exhausted, our dogs were bark'in not to mention it was HOT!!!!! But the best park it was free!!!!!

The Japanese Garden was outside... this was my other favorite!

It even had a beautiful waterfall!


Our last stop was the butterfly garden.... there were so many butterflies in there. At first sister was scared, she wouldn't let me put her down... lol.

The Conservatory... I swear I have seen this place in some movie....

Lego World at Mall of America.... our first stop was at Ikea which is across the street where I thoroughly enjoyed some Swedish meatballs and bought the kids a lil table, something I have wanted for years. After leaving the mall we really felt like we didn't do anything since you spent most of your time walking around the place. Before we left we let the kids go on a couple of rides in the center of the mall otherwise know as Nickelodeon Universe.... that's a rip off!!!!!!!

By the way these guys are made completely out of Lego's...

Sunday after church we somehow found ourselves downtown Minneapolis, we walked Nicollet Mall which is a popular street down there with lots of sidewalk restaurants and stores.... towards the west end of Nicollet Mall is this wonderful walkway through these apartments with flowers and fountains and even a playground ... the kids had a blast!!!! The walkway takes you right to Loring Park, a really large park downtown. On our way back we stopped and enjoyed an outdoor concert next to the orchestra hall.... it was a beautiful day!


The Minneapolis Science Museum....Brayden is sitting by the tower our built. We got in free here with our WNC pass... gotta love that!!!!!

I didn't have any pictures of our trip to the beach but that was fun too.... there are 3 lakes right downtown with trails around them and several beachfronts. The kids loved that!!!!! And we found this really awesome pool near our house with all this fun play stuff for the kids.... I bought a pass and have been there a couple times with the kids!!! Brayden is doing soccer twice a week and we have swimming M-Th.... it kind of exhausting!!!! Brayden just loves swimming he's quite the little fish!
We haven't made any friends yet and are really missing our TN buds! The kids still talk about you guys =(. I'm not totally impressed with our ward here it's small compared to JC, and it doesn't seem like the girls get together for playdates and mom's nights and stuff. I'm gonna talk to the RS president about getting something going so maybe I can livin up this place.... Love you all.....

There is a bun in the oven.... he or she is due mid November! We are really excited about this new addition to our family. I am just feeling really horrible, which couldn't come at a worse time since we are moving to Minnesota at the end of next month. I'm hoping that in the next few days or weeks I should start feeling better since I'll be entering my 2nd trimester! Feel free to leave us some name ideas.... we always have such a hard time with that.... and of course when the time comes we will be finding out whether it's a boy or girl!!!!!

Family Trip

Our first stop was Dollywood....

The next day we hit the Nascar go-karts, some outlet shopping, strolled through downtown Gatlinburg, hit Ripley's Aquarium and the Hollywood Wax Museum.... boy was that a long day, but fun!!!!! I was beat!

This is our real tree... I love it!!!!! Finally used the

real ornaments I inherited from my childhood....

I know it's a little scary with kids but so far so good...

except for the when the tree fell over on top of me,

I was adjusting it right after we got done decorating.

Justin helped save it... only a few ornaments were lost.

I don't know what it is with us and our trees falling over.

I have been in search of a good homemade pancake recipe for sometime now and to my great delight finally found one on my favorite recipe site.... allrecipes.com. After making it a few times I realized it doesn't call for any oil, what a plus!!!! Ok so I lied I just read the recipe and it calls for butter but I never have added this and they still turn out great!!!!!!!!!! (the flax seed would help with this and can be a substitute for oil in recipes so perhaps that's why it is not missed)

INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
I sprinkle in some milled flax seed and wheat germ (approx 3-5TBS each)
1 egg
2 tablespoons butter, melted (I've never added this)
cooking spray

DIRECTIONS
Combine milk with vinegar in a medium bowl and set aside for 5 minutes to "sour". (I know this sounds seriously weird but it's like makeshift buttermilk, if you ever have a recipe that calls for buttermilk and you dont' have any you can do this and substitute it for buttermilk)
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Whisk egg and butter into "soured" milk. Pour the flour mixture into the wet ingredients and whisk until lumps are gone. (Don't over mix)(This batter is really thick!!!! but that's what helps make is so fluffy)
Heat a large skillet over medium heat, and coat with cooking spray. Pour 1/4 cupfuls of batter onto the skillet, and cook until bubbles appear on the surface. Flip with a spatula, and cook until browned on the other side.

Our favorite ways to serve these has been...
1. With cream cheese, sliced strawberries and warm syrup YUM (these strawberries were from our garden, super YUM)
2. chocolate chip pancakes with peanut butter spread on top and drizzled with warm syrup (drop the chocolate chips in after pouring the pancake batter on the skillet to ensure proper chip distribution) SERIOUSLY THE BEST!!!!!!

Summer 2009

First there was broccoli and blueberries.....

Then came everything else; tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, onions, peppers, strawberries, cantelope, watermelon, corn, snap peas, carrots, beans, eggplant and a plethora of herbs.... YUMMM!!!! (our lettuce and cabbage didn't turn out, not YUMMM)

And lets not forget the beautiful flowers too...

Our very first attempt at growing a garden I would say was a surprising success... especially considering that I was not born with a green tumb, despite my mothers talent with things that grow. Although, I must admit much of the sucess of our garden was due to Justin's diligent and consistent efforts. My focus was more on the front flower garden... which was a complete experiment, I just dug around and planted a bunch of seeds. Flowers grew up in many unexpected ways. We learned alot and throughly enjoyed it, can't wait til next season!!!!!

It was a really fun day and free since we have a wild nc membership... can't beat that. The kids had a blast and we gotta see alot of cool animals. The butterfly garden was the best since Brayden has an obsession with bugs and most recently catapillars.

Bristol Caverns

Just about an hour away from our home in Johnson City, TN we visited the Bristol Caverns. It was pretty darn cool! I should be having lots of good luck now because apparently when water drips on you in the cave it's called a cave kiss and it's supposed to be good luck... I got lots of cave kisses!

Road Trip to NC

So Justin had a fellowship interview in Greenville, NC and we went along for the trip. We visited this quaint old town called New Bern on the coast and then the next day went to Atlantic Beach where we visited the aquarium and collected shells on the beach, the kids loved this Bub especially!!! We still have our sea shell collection which Bub loves to play with. It was kinda cold but it was totally worth it!!! Then we induldged in some sea fare and Brayden was so brave eating lobster and soft shell crab. It was so fun!!! We have to visit the coast when it's nice and warm!!!!!

I guess it's been awhile... so I wasted a beautiful day getting into my memory cards, playlists and slideshows... once you get started you just can't stop, ya know. So I'll try to go back and post some important things like easter and birthdays and the like. Since my last post we've had our ups and downs that's for sure, but for the most part life here in eastern Tennesse is treating us very well. We have lot's to be thankful for ... unfortunately we might be moving again in a year due to Justin's job, fellowship might take us elsewhere. This makes me sad since we will have to leave behind a house we love, a garden we have spend many hours of labor in and have grown to love and finally many many friends we care for. But such is life ... we will definately be enjoying our next year here and sucking it up for all it's worth. The kids are getting so big and they are both so independent! Brayden is 3 and 1/2 years old; he pours his own juice, rides his trike like a maniac and asks "WHY?" about absolutely everything!!!! Sister is almost 16 months. She is walking and climbing all over the place, she talks now, and even throws a tantrum or two, it's really cute actually (how do they learn how to do that anyway). So tune in for future or should I say past updates. Love you all and miss you all when your not around!

A day at the circus

I don't recall that I've actually ever been to a real circus before so this was a new thing for not only the kids but me too. We won tickets to the circus through our playgroup and so our trip was free... even better. But acutally it was a pretty good show, see for yourselves.

Brayden's first cotton candy... he liked it alot.

I didn't catch a picture of it but they jumped through a ring of fire!

We were seated up pretty high so these babes were pretty close to us. Although I don't quite get the bra's showing underneath their costumes....???????? And it wasn't just like one of them it was all of them... I guess at least they were coordinated.

We are members at the local children's museum...again. Hey you gotta have somewhere to go when the cabin fever hits. They just opened the new dinosaur exhibit and it's pretty cool... see for yourself. They are all robotic and move around and rrrrrrr too. Brayden wouldn't stand closer so I could get a good picture... he was a little scared.

We really likes this one it's the robot dinosaur without it's

covering and you can push these buttons to make different parts of it move.

Brayden has found his new favorite part of the museum... the grocery store. He fills his cart overflowing and then I have to check him out at the register. It's pretty funny he must take after me I guess, I have an addiction to grocery shopping.

Yeah a rare picture of me. I don't have lots of pictures of me and even rarer I never post them 1. I hate to be photographed and 2. I'm usually the one behind the camera. I'm holding it out in front of me so I'm behind and in front of the camera... and the monkey girl in her sling... gosh I absolutely love that thing and use it all the time!!!!! I highly recommend it, it's a hotsling.

Halloween Pumpkins

Pumpkin picking has become a yearly tradition in our house. This year it was the economical version. We didn't go to any of the corn maze pumpkin patch farms in the area because we heard most of them were lame and you had to pay to get into all of them... even more lame. So we bought 3 mini pumpkins at this church down the road for 2.50, went to Sonic for ice cream sundaes and bought 2 bigger pumpkins from the local grocery store for less than 10. I guess the kids are still to young to know the difference between economical pumpkin picking and extravagant pumpkin picking...

We were out at the park with out playgroup, monkey is hang'n with all the other kids her age sharing her toys and her picnic blanket. We are so glad we are making friends here.

He insisted on putting on this helmet!!!! It was a tight fit so he couldn't get it off himself and had to hold it up so he could see. Then he kept complaining how his arms hurt from holding it up, but I wouldn't let him take it off til I got a picture. Crasy guy!

Just some pictures of the kids room and their closet. We put this organizer in there last weekend and it has really helped out, making lot's more room for their stuff.

Yeah so I've started making the little punky girl some hair bows. Everybody is always commenting on how they love her fuzzy hair I thought I should accessorize it. And as a bonus people won't then mistake her for a boy. I know some of them are out of control but isn't that the fun of it. These are my first attempts and I haven't actually attached them to clips or a headbands, I just stuck them on this headband with a bobby pin so I could see how they would look. So what do you think? Justin says they're too big... but what does he know about being a girly girl!

A day at the farm...

We spent the morning at this neat farm in Bristol, TN. Afterward we had this really nice pinic lunch near a park and a creek. We got to see and pet lots of animals; duck, hen, rabit, goose, dog, horse, goat. Brayden got to feed the goat crackers and he even got to ride on the horse around the frontyard of the old farmhouse unfortunately I don't have that picture, my hands were too full feeding Alex but fortunately a friend got a picture of it so hopefully I'll get that and post it here soon. He was so brave with all the animals and had no problem getting up on that horse, he looked so cute up there.

Well I finally got my new camera and I'm very much enjoying it.

Here are some pictures of us enjoying the backyard. I can't tell

you how absolutely awesome it is to have a yard with a fence.

Brayden and Mooch can't get enough of it!!! Brayden goes out there

all by himself; he either climbs through the doggie door or goes into

the garage and opens the garage door... thank goodness there is a fence!!!!

The monkey girl playing in her excersaucer, it's so nice to have these

contraptions to put your little ones in!! She really enjoys it too, we missed

these when we were at my moms for a whole month.

Brayden is always wet from playing with the hose and sprinklers

(he knows how to work that all by himself too).

We finally got a lawnmower so we can trim this jungle we got goin on.

Lawn care, something we've never had to worry about before.

Brayden's excited about it, can't say that for the rest of us.

Somebody was being a crab and didn't want to take a picture,

What a switch Brayden actually suggested I get the camera so we could take

this picture, silly huh? I see a future priesthood holder in our midst.

Yeah, now he's back to his old tricks, that didn't last very long.

about his sister. I'm not quite sure what he's doing here.

He mostly just ignores her so at least he is paying attention to her... right?

Fun times in the bathtub. These too are both water babies

and now they get to enjoy the bathtub together, it's so fun watching

them in the tubber together. And you gotta love that bumbo chair it's

got like a million different uses but in the water happens to be my favorite!!!

We are still alive. Life has been a bit crazy the last few weeks and my camera is finally out of commission for good. I've just ordered a new one online so hopefully I get that soon and start posting more pics again. I'm considering an early birthday present to myself.
Our little Alex gave us a scare and we spent our last weekend visiting granma in the hospital. She has these very weird and scary episodes in which she goes completely limp like a rag doll. Fortunately her myriad of test done in the hospital showed she was A-OK but then what the heck is wrong with her? After that whole fiasco my mom drove with me to TN so we could have her followed up down here with a pediatric neurologist. Well the jury is still out on what exactly is wrong with her, she hasn't had an episode like that for about 3 weeks now so I'm hoping that they are over with and we can postpone the MRI she has scheduled in September! The peds neurologist here didn't think that they were seizures like the one in Rockford did, he even suggested that episodes like this can result from reflux... very interesting huh? and even better basically benign!!!

Hang'n at Granma's

Granma lives right on a pond so there are lots of frogs around. This froggy happened to be hiding in granma garage so we captured it in a pop box and made it a home in this cooler. Brayden got a kick out of it. We called it Hippiety Hop. Before going to bed last night Brayden wanted to check on Hippiety Hop... but he was gone he must have hippiety hopped away.

What a happy girl.

Brayden went down this mini twisty tube slide like 1000 times I'm not even kidding you and just the other day I couldn't get him to go down it for the life of me. I guess everything happen in it's own time. He needs to do things on his own terms. Anyhow, I had such a great time because he was finally having a good time. Can't wait to go back.

Tons of fun at Aunty Sandy's house

I got this slip'n slide for $5 this week, I figured since Brayden had so much fun in Kentucky on the slip'n slide we could use this in the backyard at our new house... since we actually have a backyard now, yeah!!!! But we took it over to Aunty Sandy's house so the kiddos could play on it together and they all had lot's of fun.

Water park day 1, brave'n it alone

Magic Waters Water Park; Rockford, Illinois

As you can see this stroller is a big hit. Brayden would rather hang back there than play in the kiddie pool. We had lot's of fun though. It was a little nerve racking going there by myself with two kids but we made out okay. We'll be able to do more stuff next time when grandma or uncle Kurtie goes with us. We're looking forward to that. Grandma bought us all season passes so we'll be hang'n out there alot, not to mention the fact that it's brutally hot an humid so it's a perfect place to hang out! Next time I'll actually have pictures of the waterpark when I have more assistance, so stay tuned.

Gotta love free stuff! My cousin gave me this like forever ago (Thanks Jackie), knowing that one day in the future I would need it. Thank goodness for that because it's awesome, it's like a Cadillac it's huge and it's maneuvers really well, kinda short on storage though but I'll manage. It has been in my mom's basement gather dust and mold for some time now, but we scrubbed it down and hosed it off and now it's like brand new!!!!! Really Alex belongs in the back but Brayden likes it back there so much so that's his spot now I guess. I also posted this pictures because you can never beat 2 children a sleep at once!!!!!

A day at the pool

Last Friday for playgroup we spent it at the pool.

Brayden loved playing with the water like he always does

dumping water back and forth with his buckets and cups.

However, he didn't really want to get into the deeper water with

me, it was kind of a bummer we even wanted to try out his

floaty suit. When I carried him into the water he just whinned and

cried about it and I laughed, the other girls thought I got too much

pleasure out of this, haha. So Bub didn't like the swimming but

Pumpkin got in with me, she liked it and it was even pretty cold!!!!

Fun times...

Oh and a little side note. Pumpkin aka punky monkey (that's my new one)

went to the doctor this past monday for her 4mo check up and the

doctor told me that under 6mo you don't use sunscreen but you can use diaper

cream with zinc oxide, this is news to me just thought this might be helpful info

that is if your as clueless as I am. Too bad I didn't know this before out

pool daysince I slathered her in sunscreen from head to toe!!!!!

Pumpkin always likes to fall asleep in her car seat.

Christopher's Visit

Christopher came to visit during his spring break and got to see his sister for the first time. I'm sorry to say that I wasn't really the best time considering we all were pretty sick. But we did try to make the most of it. Mostly Christopher had fun vegging in front of the TV and playing with the dogs who love him so much. Mooch was his sidekick and followed him around everywhere!!! He was a great help to have around cause he would look after Brayden while I fed the baby or took care of things around the house which Brayden usually makes impossible... So thanks Christopher it was really nice to have you here and we'll have more fun next time. (Gosh he is getting so big!!!)

Surviving

We are starting to finally get over our illnesses and look forward to rejoining the real world again; seeing our friends and getting out. This weather has been ugly too so I guess we haven't been missing out on much as far as that goes. We are looking forward to warmer, sunnier, healthier days.

This may be hard to believe but ever since Alex was born I have not taken a nap during the day... with the exception of when my mom was here and I was sick. Not to mention there is rarely the opportunity because Brayden doesn't often take a nap and if he does it seems that Alex would be awake so they were never asleep at the same time. Well today I put Brayden in his room for quiet time which means he can be in his room with books and TV and he just needs to like chill and he's been doing pretty good with this... I thought. I was especially tired today so I took a nap too, Yippy for me. However this is what I woke up to find...

Yes this would be almost everything contained in the

dresser in his room not to mention his basket of socks

oh and don't forget the diaper basket. But look on the bright

side he didn't empty the hamper =).

yes there is a humidifier in there somewhere ... nice

yes it is hard to watch TV when there is Desitin smeared

all over the screen, oh and yes it is necessary to

scale the dresser and lean over to the shelf to

reach the TV... and I would have taken a picture

of the wall to if I thought the Desitin smeared all

over that would show up but it is white on white you

know. So much for that brand new tube of butt cream.

The weekend before Easter Brayden, Alex and I went to the Clay

Center childrens museum for and easter celebration

there. We got to hunt for eggs, made paper bunny ears

and Brayden's favorite part, get a chocolate Easter bunny.

Well we hope you all had a nice Easter this year. We are grateful for this holiday in which we get to remember and reflect of the awesome gift of the atonement. We are so grateful for the Savior and the sacrafice he made for each and everyone of us so that one day we can live again!!!

Daddy was on call and pretty much worked all

Hey I just want to keep in touch with family and friends who may be far far away and already I find this process extremely anerving. Being on the computer in general is just a major time sucker, it's already midnight and I haven't even started putting together the easter baskets like I wanted to... not to mention all the other stuff I didn't get to around the house and I really should be sleeping.
